For most children in the Toronto areas, Christmas is the most joyful time of the year, but unfortunately, it can also be the most painful season for families who cannot afford to give their children the gifts they wish for. The GTHL is working to make sure that this year, every child in the region gets the Christmas that they deserve. The League is hosting its 5th annual Kids Kare Toy Drive on December 8th and 9th, 2007. On these two days, all arenas with GTHL scheduled games will be collecting contributions of new, unwrapped toys to be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Toronto.
The Boys and Girls Club provides after school programs for thousands of children and youth in some of the city's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods. The Club's programs help to reduce delinquency and anti-social behaviour among the children they serve. Last year, over 800 toys were collected for these children and this year, the goal is to beat that number. Everyone is encouraged to give generously at the arena nearest you to help make this Christmas season brighter for those most in need.
For a complete listing of participating arenas and drop-off times, contact shawnasmith@gthlcanada.com. Donations will also be accepted at the GTHL during office hours, beginning immediately and up to and including December 8th. Remember, giving to less fortunate children will definitely make you feel better.
NEW UNWRAPPED TOYS DELIVERED TO GOULDING DECEMBER 5 THROUGH DECEMBER 9 (inclusive) WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE GTHL.
PLAYERS WHO PARTICIPATE WILL RECEIVE A FREE PASS TO ANY NORTH YORK RANGERS Jr A HOME GAME.
